A Way To Decrease Disrespect In Classrooms

A+Way+To+Decrease+Disrespect+In+Classrooms

In several classes, I have seen many students not engage in lessons. They are either on a phone, on a computer or sleeping and it’s very irritating to watch. As someone who works hard for good grades, I have to wonder: Shouldn’t there be consequences for the ones who don’t do the work in class?

The school should enforce a new grading policy to fix this. If a student is seen not participating in class and doesn’t change their behavior after 3 warnings, it should affect their grade.

Some students find the act of ignoring lessons to be disrespectful. Teachers have to stop in the middle of class to correct the situation and it is distracting.

There shouldn’t be special treatment for any student who has the ability to get the work done. If they aren’t putting in effort during class, their grade should be deducted.

Others believe that paying attention in class counts as participation. Teachers should be able to take certain measures when students refuse to do their lessons.

Not only is it disruptive for the whole class, the student will suffer individually. If they aren’t actually learning anything, it can result in a knowledge decline and less opportunities for their future.

Usually, a student doesn’t do the work in class because they know there’s easier ways to get it done at home. When the proof is evident, there should be consequences.

Those who oppose this rule feel that the problem isn’t serious enough to implement such order, but it’s not fair for the students who actually try to succeed in school.

Persons that agree with the policy should voice their opinions to other teachers and students to get the word around in our community.
